The Food and Veterinary Office (FVO) is coming to B&H from 24 to 4 April 2014to assess compliance with the conditions for the export of potatoes to the EU, reports Fena from the B&H Directorate for Plant Health.
‘’At this moment, no one can with certainly say what the FVO will report and when the official decision will be brought from the European Commission DG SANCO on meeting the conditions for the export of potatoes’’, said this administration.
They said that it is very important for the FVO inspection mission comes to B&H after only three years of the implementation of the Program of Special Supervision (control system) of the quarantine of harmful substances in potatoes that the Directorate for Plant Health is implementing in cooperation with the relevant entity authorities and Brčko District.
They recall that a special supervision is carried out in order to determine the status, or the presence or absence of the quarantine of harmful substances on potatoes in areas of entry of the shipment of potatoes, which is imported in B&H, and in distribution centers and storage spaces. On the basis of the report of the authorized laboratories, for all three years of the implementation of special supervision, there was no detection of quarantine pests on potatoes grown in B&H, which would be limited for export to EU countries.
