Police officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia are undertaking a series of measures and actions in connection with the search for a person who committed the criminal offense of “Major murder” last night, during which a police officer of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia was killed in Loznica.
“Since the event itself, members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republika Srpska have been in constant communication with their colleagues from Serbia and are undertaking a series of measures in the areas that are operationally covered by the Zvornik and Bijeljina police departments, all with the aim of locating and depriving the person who committed this criminal act, having in the form of proximity to the border of the two countries,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the RS announced.
It is added that members of the gendarmerie units are also involved in the search.
“We call on citizens, especially those who live in the mentioned border area, to call the police immediately at number 122 if they see a person,” the statement added.
The Vice-President of the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic announced that tonight, around 00:55 in Loznica, during the control of vehicles at the checkpoint in Lipnički Šor, the police officers of the border police station Trbušnica stopped the Mercedes, with Tutina license plates, in which they were two people. When getting out of the vehicle, one person fired a pistol, hitting police officer Nikola Krsmanović (1990) in the chest, and police officer Vjekoslav Ilić (1974) in the shoulder, after which he ran away. Krsmanović succumbed to his injuries.
“On the spot, the police found the suspect’s passport issued by Kosovo institutions in the name of Hajziri Artan (1991) and a German identity card,” said Dacic.
