Interesting Story: Number of People who are over Hundred Years Old in BiH

The oldest person in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) lives in Sarajevo Canton and he is 114 years old. In total, there are 752 persons who are one hundred and more years old living in BiH.

According to Identity Documentation, Record and Data Exchange Agency of BiH (IDDEEA), there are many more women in our country who are one hundred and more years old.

“Out of the total number of people who are over 100 years old, there are 214 men, and 538 women,” was stated from IDDEEA.

The biggest number lives in Mostar, hence 46, out of which 13 men and 33 women.

Up to two months ago, 769 people over the age of 100 were living in BiH, and the number of women who had reached 100 and over was twice as high.

The oldest person in BiH is a man born on September 25t, 1904, and he is currently living in the area of Stari Grad Municipality in Sarajevo.

Nutrition, less stress and the environment are some of the most common advice that people who are 100 years old and over, give to younger generations.

Since the death of 117-year-old Chiyo Miyako of Japan on 22 July 2018, 115-year-old Kane Tanaka, also of Japan, born 2 January 1903, is the oldest living person in the world whose age has been documented.
