SAJAM_VELIKAFrom 23 to 28 April, the 26th international book fair will be held in Sarajevo. The motto is ‘Word-Book-Universe’.

The fair will be open on World Book Day and Copyrights, and entrance for all is free.

The Director of the Skenderija Center Hajriz Bećirević said at a press conference that this fair has become a brand and synonymous with a successful organization and that they are especially proud of it.

The President of the Association of Publishers and Booksellers Ibrahim Spahić said that there is a relationship between publishers, authors and literature and added that he is glad that the publishers have shown confidence in this project.

Ajdin Šahinpašić, Director of TDK Šahinpašić, who is the organizer of this fair, said that the fair would be official and solemn, just what the public is used to.

He noted that in the previous two years they had difficulties and a ‘’little wandering’’, when it comes to the exhibition center due to the collapse of the roof of Skenderija and that this year the book fair will be held only in the “Mirza Delibašić” hall.

In addition to the promotion in the Bosnian House as a central place for the fair, Spahić said that the promotions would also be held outside the fair premises.

‘’The promotions will be held in bookstores, on the street, in trams and trolleybuses’’, said Spahić.

The writer Ivan Kordić will open the book fair.

As in previous years, the fair will follow supporting events between other meetings of librarians, exhibitions dedicated to the writer Hertha Muller.
