Investments in the coalmine (RMU) “Breza” is defined with two investment decisions of the parent company Elektroprivrede BiH, which plans to invest around 32 million KM in the mine until 2014.

The General Director of the mine Suad Čosić confirmed this for Fena Agency.

The highest level of investments relates to the purchase of equipment that is produced using coal in the amount of 21 million KM.

“After the negotiation process was completed, the best bidder was chosen and what remains is to sign an agreement in order to obtain new equipment by June 2014 at the latest. This would allow us to produce 250 thousand tons of coal’’, said Čosić.

This would bring “Breza” mine at the level of the best-equipped mines in the FBiH with the highest production in the region.

He pointed out that last year they had the best post-war production by five percent when they switched to a plan that increased revenue and reduced costs. This resulted in good business results.

1.250 people are employed in “Breza” mine, and from that amount around 1.100 people are directly tied to jobs in the mining pits.
