Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nenad Nešić, today discussed migration management with the Head of the IOM in BiH, Laura Lungarotti, and representatives of the UN in BiH.

The topic of the conversation was support, as well as ensuring conditions for adequate accommodation of migrants during their temporary stay in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The IOM and the UN presented the previous support to BiH in migration management, as well as plans for the transition and takeover of these processes by the competent institutions in BiH.

The current situation in this area is considered satisfactory and there are around 700 migrants in four temporary reception centers.

Minister Nešić pointed out that the BiH Ministry of Security, along with the progress made so far, will continue to take additional measures to improve migration management, especially border protection, the return of migrants to their countries of origin and strengthening of regional and international cooperation, the BiH Ministry of Security announced.
