Iran Launches 100 Rockets at Israel: Tel Aviv and Haifa Among Main Targets

The conflict between Iran and Israel has escalated significantly this evening. Iranian state television announced the start of the second wave of the military operation “True Promise 3”.

The attack used a combination of drones and more than 100 missiles, with the main targets being the Israeli cities of Tel Aviv and Haifa. Tehran claims that the aim of the attack was to “disturb the sleep of the residents”.

Shortly afterwards, the Israeli military (IDF) announced that it had detected a missile launch from Iranian territory towards Israeli territory. All available defense systems were activated, and citizens were ordered to take shelter in protected areas and remain there until further notice.

At the same time, the Israeli air force launched counterattacks on military targets in the Iranian capital of Tehran. While the interception of the Iranian missiles continues, Israeli aircraft are carrying out strikes on targets that the IDF says are linked to the attack.

Loud explosions were heard in northern Israel, particularly in the cities of Haifa and Kiryat. It was not immediately clear whether the missiles hit the ground or were intercepted by Israeli air defense systems.

Air raid sirens also sounded in the Jordanian capital Amman, prompting Jordan to close its airspace as a precaution.

Israel’s Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency services said they had not yet received any reports of injuries, but that teams had been dispatched to two locations to assess the situation.

Meanwhile, the Israeli fire service said teams had responded to several locations in the coastal and northern parts of the country. There were reports of falling debris, damage to homes and fires in open areas. Teams are still on the ground.

Internationally, Iran’s Nuclear Regulatory Agency has informed the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) that no change in radiation levels has been recorded near the Isfahan nuclear facility, despite Israeli bombing of military targets in Iran.

The situation continues to evolve, with regional and world powers calling for restraint and avoiding further escalation.
