Iran says it would not tolerate ‘Saboteurs’

Iran’s security forces and judicial authorities will show no tolerance for people the authorities call saboteurs, officials said Friday, stressing that they will respond decisively to the current unrest in the country.

In a statement from the Secretariat of the Supreme National Security Council, it was stated that the security structures will thwart, as it is claimed, the plans of the “Zionist regime” and its ally, the United States of America. Iranian state television reported that it was announced that there would be no leniency towards those who, according to the authorities, threaten the security of the country.

The officials pointed out that citizens who express dissatisfaction with the economic situation should refrain from actions that could cause additional damage to the economy, stressing that the Iranian people will not accept the creation of an atmosphere of insecurity.

The statement also recalled Israel’s long-standing hostile relationship with Iran, including the 12-day conflict from June last year. The recent events are said to have initially arisen due to market instabilities but, according to the authorities, were later aimed at causing chaos with outside interference.

The Iranian authorities said that the statements of US President Donald Trump indicate the coordinated action of Israel and the US with the aim of destabilizing the country, adding that Iran, through the unity of its citizens, has already overcome similar challenges.

The announcement also condemned the incidents in which Iranian flags and statues of Qasem Soleimani, the former commander of the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, were killed a year ago, were burned, with the message that such actions are not acceptable to Iranian society.
