Acting Director of the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency(FIPA) of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) Marko Kubatlija met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Ireland to BiH, based in Ljubljana, Adrian Farrell.
On that occasion, bilateral relations between BiH and Ireland, economic cooperation and plans for promotional activities, and more intensive promotion of the investment potential of BiH for Irish investors were discussed.
As it was said, with the opening of the Embassy in Sarajevo next year, the Republic of Ireland plans to work more intensively on the improvement of economic cooperation.
Kubatlija presented the basic advantages of BiH for foreign investors, past cooperation, and his plans for establishing direct contacts with Irish investors and more intensive promotion of investment projects from targeted sectors.
Ambassador Farrell offered support in terms of presenting Irish experiences in the process of attracting foreign investors and their cooperation with the diaspora, and also that due to certain similarities with Ireland, BiH can apply Irish good practices and attract more significant investments and support to foreign investors.
The interlocutors agreed that examples of Irish investments such as Hotel Central Sarajevo and Trasna Solutions d.o.o. Gracanica can serve as a good example for the intensification of FIPA’s promotional activities in the Republic of Ireland, which are planned for the next year.
It was concluded that there is a need to strengthen economic cooperation and that the established flights of the Irish company Ryanair will contribute to a greater influx of tourists and investments from Ireland to BiH, Biznis Info writes.
