kavazovicThe Islamic Community in BiH expressed concern about the destruction of the religious-cultural-educational facility in Zemun Polje in Serbia due to the unfinished procedure.

The Islamic Community in BiH understands the need to implement the laws of the Republic of Serbia, but insists that at the same time they must respect the religious freedoms of all citizens and enable them to legitimately realize their rights, is stated by the Islamic community in BiH.

“For a long time BiH and international organizations have warned the public about the problems that Muslims in Serbia encounter in realizing basic religious rights such as the right to gather and right to build religious buildings. The manner in which this religious object has been destroyed despite the opposition of citizens and before the holy month of Ramadan, sends a bad message to the public,” is stated from the Islamic community in BiH.

From the Islamic Community in BiH hopethat the mistake will be corrected and that the Muslims in Serbia and its authorities will soon find a solution to enable legal construction of religious buildings and mosques that are needed for believers for a several years.
