Ismail Zulfic, a swimming representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), has once again written new pages of sports history.

A member of the SPID Swimming Club from Sarajevo, at this year’s sixth International Para Swimming Festival held in Zagreb, he broke the senior European record in the 100-meter butterfly event in the S5 class.

The new best time of the Old Continent, owned by fifteen-year-old Ismail Zulfic, now stands at 1:33.64.

“Ismail Zulfic once again exceeded expectations and pushed the boundaries. At the competition in Zagreb, he showed that everything great he has achieved so far is actually just the beginning of the best that is yet to come,” the SPID Swimming Club said.

The International Para Swimming Festival in Zagreb gathered 160 competitors from nine countries. Along with the hosts, representatives of Austria, Montenegro, Estonia, Italy, Luxembourg, Slovenia, Norway, and BiH took part.

Excellent work in Croatia was also done by Ismail Barlov, who won the trophy for the most valuable result in the category of younger juniors and seniors with 828 MD points swum.

In the total number of points achieved in four events, Ismail Barlov took second place in the senior category, while in the category of younger juniors, he finished first, winning seven gold and one silver medal. With his results, Ismail Barlov was also the best competitor in this competition.

The SPID Swimming Club team in Zagreb was led by head coach Amel Kapo and coach Ilda Kukuruzovic.
