Multiple Israeli strikes on the Syrian city of Hama late yesterday killed at least four civilians, Syrian state media reported, with sources saying the target was a major military research center.
Since the October 7 attack by Hamas on Israeli civilians and soldiers, Israel has escalated its strikes against Iran-backed militia targets in Syria and has also attacked the Syrian army’s air defenses and some Syrian forces.
A local health official, quoted by the Syrian state news agency, said that after yesterday’s strikes near the town of Misyaf, 13 people were injured, several of them in critical condition.
Two regional intelligence sources said a large military research center for the production of chemical weapons located near Misyaf was hit several times. It is believed to house a team of Iranian military experts involved in weapons production.
Syrian state media also reported that the strikes started two fires that firefighters are putting out, Hina writes.
