Israel carries out Airstrikes in Southern Lebanon

The Israeli military launched heavy airstrikes on Friday targeting forests in Ali Al-Taher and the Kfar Tebnit and Nabatiyeh Al-Fouqa plateaus in southern Lebanon.

Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) reported that the strikes used concussion-type rockets that caused loud explosions that were heard across the region.

The Israeli military said in a statement that it had carried out an airstrike on a Hezbollah site located on Mount Shqif in southern Lebanon.

The attack was said to have targeted the site under the pretext of preventing its reconstruction.

Israeli forces have been carrying out almost daily strikes in southern Lebanon, claiming to target the activities of the Lebanese group Hezbollah, despite a ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon reached last November.

The ceasefire ended a months-long cross-border war between Israel and Hezbollah, which escalated into a full-scale conflict in September last year.
