The Israeli military said it had raised sirens in the north of the country after a missile was detected from Iran.

The incident came shortly after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that he had accepted US President Donald Trump’s ceasefire proposal.

According to Israeli media outlets The Times of Israel and YNet News, Iran fired one ballistic missile, which was likely intercepted, according to available information.

There were no reports of targets being hit or injuries, Al JAzeera reported.

Immediately afterwards, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced retaliation for the attack on the social network X:

“I have ordered the IDF to respond forcefully to Iran’s violation of the ceasefire with powerful strikes on regime targets in the heart of Tehran.”

Tensions between Tehran and Tel Aviv continue to rise despite attempts at de-escalation, and the situation remains extremely volatile.
