A bus carrying a group of Palestinian prisoners released from Israeli prisons arrived in the West Bank city of Ramallah on Saturday as part of a ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
The Red Cross bus was carrying 42 prisoners, who were greeted by cheering crowds that had gathered since the early hours of the morning.
They were released from Ofer military prison, near Ramallah, in the first phase of a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement that came into effect on January 19.
As part of the exchange, Israel is set to release a total of 183 Palestinian prisoners during the day in exchange for three Israeli hostages released by Hamas earlier in the day.
So far, 16 Israeli hostages and five Thai workers have been freed under the Gaza ceasefire, while hundreds of Palestinian prisoners have been released.
