Israeli Military confirms killing of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Spokesman

In a new escalation of the conflict between Iran, Israel and the United States, the Israeli military confirmed that the spokesman for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Ali Mohammad Naeini, had been killed, confirming earlier reports from Iranian media.

According to the IDF, Naeini was killed in a nighttime airstrike, which was reported via Platform X. Information about his death was also reported by numerous Iranian media outlets, including the Tasnim News Agency, stating that he was killed in joint US-Israeli operations.

Shortly before his death, Ali Mohammad Naeini issued a statement in which he said that Iran, despite intense attacks, still has the capacity to develop and produce missile weapons. His statement is interpreted as an attempt to demonstrate the resilience of the Iranian military apparatus and send a message of deterrence to its adversaries.

The killing of the high-ranking IRGC spokesman comes at a time when the death toll among key Iranian political and military figures is rapidly increasing. Previous targeted strikes have killed former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, security official Ali Larijani, Basij paramilitary commander Gholamreza Soleimani, and Intelligence Minister Esmail Khatib.

These attacks are part of a broader strategy to target key figures within Iran’s security and political apparatus, with the aim of weakening the country’s command structure and operational capabilities. Analysts warn that such an approach could have a dual effect – destabilizing Iran’s military capabilities in the short term, but increasing the risk of further escalation in the long term.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps plays a central role in Iran’s military and security strategy, including the development of ballistic missiles, support for regional allies, and oversight of key segments of national security. The loss of a senior official like Ali Mohammad Naeini therefore represents a significant blow not only in operational but also in propaganda terms.
