Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to pay an Official Visit to Bosnia

In an interview, HDZ Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) President Dragan Covic talked about relations with the state of Israel and announced Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s arrival at the International Economy Fair Mostar.

”Partnership with the state of Israel is absolutely in the interest of all citizens. It is the least a political partnership. The primary relationship we want to build with Israel is that relationship of trust and what the state of Israel has experience with, which is two or three times more populated than us here in BiH, which has no arable land, and is not covered by water. When they come, they can’t believe that in Herzegovina we have so much uncultivated land, and everything actually lies on the water,” the HDZ president said.

He also said that during his visit to Israel last June, Netanyahu asked to hold a meeting with him.

”Netanyahu then wanted us to meet and then he told me very clearly that he would have the majority and that he would be prime minister, and that he wanted to cooperate. Israel is a partner country at the next Economy Fair, which opens on May 2nd, and I am sure that Prime Minister Netanyahu will come to Mostar for the opening of the fair,” he added.

Moreover, he pointed out that together with the Prime Minister of Israel, there will be many businessmen who want to invest strongly in our country. Covic especially emphasized that this is not reserved only for Mostar, or only Croats, but for the whole BiH.

Covic also referred to the airport in Mostar and mentioned the possibility of a concession that would be negotiated with partners from Israel. He added that he expects to work with Israel in the field of education, and politics, but also in the field of security.

”Netanyahu is very familiar with the situation in BiH, and to say that a politician or an Israeli politician does not know something about Europe and the world would be naive,” Covic pointed out and added that together with Netanyahu, five or six presidents of European governments will come to Mostar.

Furthermore, Covic reminded that thanks to the takeover of the Israeli company MT Abraham Group, Aluminij experienced a boom and that today it is the largest exporter in BiH. He added that the owner of MT Abraham Group, Amir Gross Kabiri, has invested a lot in sports as well as culture and that even more investments of this type can be expected.
