Israel’s Chief of General Staff: ‘We have been waiting for this Opportunity for Years’

Israel’s Chief of General Staff, Herzi Halevi, said that attacks on Hezbollah in Lebanon should continue and that “they have been waiting for this opportunity for years.”

In the statement of the Israeli army, Halevi spoke about the attacks on Hezbollah in Lebanon. Claiming that the attacks in Lebanon “must continue”, Halevi said: “We have been waiting for this opportunity for years.”

It is interesting that Halevi’s statement about the continuation of the attack was made at a time when the issue of a ceasefire with Hezbollah was on the agenda.

The Israeli army, which has been continuing controlled clashes with Hezbollah since October 8, has since September 23 carried out hundreds of airstrikes against cities in southern Lebanon, as well as the Bekaa and Baalbek regions.

According to Lebanese authorities, 679 people have been killed in intensified airstrikes, while nearly 150,000 have been displaced within the country due to the bombing, AA writes.
