From the Gender Center of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, on the occasion of media reports about the violence that happened at the workplace in Jablanica, they remind all competent institutions of the obligation to effectively investigate and prosecute all perpetrators of all forms of violence.
According to the statement of the Gender Center, transmitted by the Public Relations Office of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, it is emphasized that, taking into account the fact that violence was committed against a woman, any form of gender-based violence, that is, violence that has a gender dimension, is a particularly pronounced problem in our society. .
They also state that despite numerous efforts undertaken in the last 20 years in the field of prevention, protection and prosecution of perpetrators of gender-based violence, our society and institutions still face numerous challenges.
The FBiH Gender Center particularly emphasizes the obligation of local communities and their involvement in the prevention of all forms of gender-based violence, violence against women and domestic violence, as well as the creation of conditions for zero tolerance for all forms of violence.
From the Gender Center, taking into account that this case happened at the workplace, they encourage the social partners of the FBiH Government, and especially employers, to implement their obligations regarding the effective prevention of all forms of gender-based violence, harassment and sexual harassment at the workplace. which derive from the FBiH Labor Law and the Law on Gender Equality in BiH.
