The investigation into the accident caused by a landslide that occurred during the blasting of a part of the quarry in Bijela near Mostar, in which two people were injured and several vehicles were damaged, continued this morning.

On Sunday, the Operational Center for Civil Protection of HNK reported that the investigation continued and that the police were securing the scene of the accident.

They remind that on April 6, around 6:30 p.m., a large amount of rock was triggered by a landslide due to the blasting of the quarry.

During the blasting of one part of the quarry, the other part also broke off, which caused a large amount of rock falls that ended up in the river. During the fall, a large amount of rock buried the cars that were on the road, two cars ended up in the river, while one car is being searched for, because it is not known whether it is under the landslide or in the water. Fortunately, the cars are owned by hikers who were not in them at the time of the accident.

“According to the current information, there are no human victims. Two people were injured, one of whom was in a boat that was knocked down during a landslide in the river, causing the water level to rise and a large wave, while the other injured person was on the shore at the time of the accident,” they say from the Operations Center and add that both people are receiving medical care.

The police are securing the scene of the accident, the investigation was interrupted last night due to darkness and continued this morning, the center added, Fena news agency reports.
