Edin Dzeko will soon officially become a new Fiorentina player, and according to Italian media, all key points have already been defined.
The experienced striker is coming as a free agent after the expiration of his contract with Fenerbahce, and the cooperation with the “Viola” will be formalized with a one-year contract, with an option to extend for another season.
Dzeko is expected to earn 1.8 million euros per year, with additional bonuses that are still the subject of final negotiations. It is precisely these details regarding individual and team bonuses that are currently delaying the official presentation.
Medical examination and tour of Viola Park already completed
Although he has not yet been publicly presented, Dzeko already underwent a medical examination in Italy on June 19th, after which he visited Viola Park – Fiorentina’s modern sports center located in Bagno a Ripoli. There he was welcomed by club managers, who showed him everything that would be at his disposal in the new environment.
Physical preparation at the highest level
While waiting for the formalization of the transfer, the captain of the Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) national team is on vacation, but that does not mean he is inactive. According to Italian media, Dzeko trains daily following an individually tailored program that includes work on endurance and explosiveness.
His physical routine includes a six-day regimen under the supervision of a personal trainer, as well as strict monitoring of a nutrition plan. All this shows that he will arrive in Florence maximally prepared for new challenges.
Family support and social engagement
In choosing the new destination, his wife, Amra Dzeko, also played an important role. According to Italian media, she was the key figure in the decision for the family to move to Florence, a city that is close to them also because of its cultural and social values.
Dzeko’s usual priorities – family life, professional dedication, and social engagement – remain the focus with this move as well. The couple is already considering a long-term solution for a new home, taking into account the needs of their four children.
Impressive statistics from the past season
Edin Dzeko had another remarkable season behind him. He played a total of 60 matches – 53 in the jersey of Fenerbahce and 7 for the national team of BiH. He scored a total of 24 goals, of which 21 were for the club and 3 for the national team.
