USKOK has just confirmed that it has expanded its investigation against a group of drug dealers connected to a powerful Croatian drug lord who was recently extradited from Turkey.
It has been revealed that they have resold an additional 340 kilograms of cocaine and 73 kilograms of marijuana, as well as smuggled 471.000.00 euros and 83.000.00 Danish kroner.
Hundreds of kilograms of drugs
They have already been linked to the procurement of hundreds of kilograms of drugs from Colombia, Sierra Leone, and Spain, smuggling them by ships to European Union (EU) countries.
Now, the channel through which they smuggled cocaine and marijuana from November 2019 to March 2021 in the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Austria, Slovenia, and Croatia has been uncovered.
Four more members of this drug ring were arrested three days ago, and some of them have been in investigative custody since earlier.
Drugs on the Croatian market
Investigators have now found evidence that this group was reselling drugs to buyers in Split, Solin, Biograd, Dubrovnik, Zadar, Rijeka, and Zagreb, as well as to individuals in BiH whose identities are currently unknown.
It is suspected that out of the total 340 kilograms of smuggled cocaine, nearly 127 kilograms ended up in Croatia. All the marijuana associated with this group has also been resold on the Croatian drug market.
