ITA BiH confiscated Various Goods of a total Market Value of almost 300 Thousand BAM

Officials of the Administration for Indirect Taxation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ITA BiH) seized a large amount of various goods – optical sights, blood pressure gauges and mobile phones – the total market value of which is estimated at 298,500 BAM in the area of the Tuzla Regional Center.

Verification and control of traffic and origin of goods was carried out based on available information about irregularities in the business of a legal entity from the territory of RC Tuzla. On that occasion, a large quantity of goods of foreign origin was found – optical sights, blood pressure gauges, hearing aids, for which there was no legally prescribed documentation and the same was confiscated, announced the ITA of BiH.

Necessary actions and activities to combat illegality under the jurisdiction of the Internal Revenue Service were carried out and items were seized from a legal entity from the territory of RC Tuzla. And in that case, it was about a large amount of goods of foreign origin for which there was no legal documentation – mobile phones iPhone 14, iPhone 13, Samsung.

The total value of seized goods in the operational activities of the Group for the Prevention of Smuggling and Misdemeanors amounts to 298,500 BAM, while for established illegalities from the Law on Customs Offenses of BiH, legal and responsible persons were issued misdemeanor orders and imposed fines in the total amount of 21,000 BAM.

In the course of taking measures, specialized equipment was used, which was donated by the American Embassy through the EXBS and UNODC programs.

The Directorate for Indirect Taxation of BiH invites all citizens to report any form of customs or VAT evasion, or illegal sale of excise goods, to the open line 080 02 06 07. All calls are free and completely anonymous.
