Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia-Herzegovina Stasa Kosarac met with Italian Ambassador to Bosnia-Herzegovina Nicola Minasi in Sarajevo on Thursday.

At the meeting, it was assessed that relations between BiH and Italy are friendly and that there are no open issues, and it was emphasized that Italy is the second foreign trade partner of BiH, and that there was an open space for improving cooperation.  Kosarac informed Minasi that the EU is BiH’s top foreign policy priority.

Kosarac and Minasi agreed that the top sectors for investing in BiH are energy, renewable energy, tourism and agriculture.

The programs for tourism and agriculture, which Italy is already implementing in BiH, were discussed, and Minister Kosarac emphasized the need to include a part of local structures that see tourism development as a significant economic potential.  In this context, Kosarac suggested that the local community in Trebinje should be actively involved in the mentioned projects.

The interlocutors exchanged views on two agreements in the field of economic and agricultural cooperation between BiH and Italy, and expressed the expectation that the said documents would be signed this year.
