ivicaosim_gettyimagesThe Government of Japan stated that within the autumn imperial decorating they will present the Order of the rising sun to Ivica Osim, former coach of the Japanese football team.

The award is presented as a recognition for contribution to the development of football in Japan and the promotion of international understanding between Japan and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Order will be awarded to Ivica Osim at the ceremony on December 7 in the residence of the Ambassador of Japan Kazuya Ogawa, stated the Embassy of Japan in BiH.

Ivica Osim became the coach of the Japanese football club JEP United Ichihara in 2003. In 2005, with that club he wins the Yamazaki Nabisco Cup. After that, in 2006, he becomes the coach of the Japanese national team.

Although he had to resign due to health issues in November 2007, he continued advising the Japanese football federation, at the same time promoting mutual understanding between Japan and BiH.
