Izetbegovic: Bosniaks, Who Make Up Over 50 Percent, Are Reduced To A Third Of Power

SDA President Bakir Izetbegovic spoke two days ago at a panel of the Cantonal Board of the SDA of Tuzla Canton (TC), which was held in Zivinice.

Izetbegovic commented on the development of the situation with the authorities in the entity Republika Srpska (RS), who have withdrawn all previously adopted unconstitutional laws and decisions.

“Anyone who has the slightest political experience can clearly see that this is a new deal between Dodik and a powerful part of the international community. This is indicated by the way everything was done, the speed, and Dodik’s relaxed attitude. What exactly that agreement entails is still unknown, but we will find out very soon. If, after the agreement, Dodik remains at the head of the SNSD, he will retain 99 percent of the influence and the problem will not be solved. On the contrary, it could further escalate. If the foreigners have offered him something with the aim of making him completely withdraw, then that could lead to the healing of relations in BiH,” said Izetbegovic.

He stated that foreigners brought Dodik to power and that they will remove him as well.

“Dodik has, to a large extent, condemned himself by defying everyone, attacking the state, insulting foreigners. He will also be condemned by the fact that the majority of Serbs did not follow his policy, which was a clear signal to the international community to start dealing with him,” said Izetbegovic.

He emphasized that by claiming they removed Dodik, the Coalition of the Three once again “insults the intelligence of the citizens.”

“The Coalition of the Three’s reactions are like that joke when an elephant and a mouse are crossing a bridge. The bridge shakes under the weight of the elephant, and the mouse says: ‘Wow, how we’re thundering, the two of us.’ So the Coalition of the Three, like the mouse from the joke, tries to claim the credit of the powerful Western powers for themselves,” said Izetbegovic.

He believes that a similar attitude toward the citizens is shown by Presidency member Denis Becirovic, who “keeps silent about all important topics and tries to gain public favor through populism and demagoguery.”

“Becirovic, together with Zeljka Cvijanovic, outvoted Komsic in granting the mandate to form the Council of Ministers and after that he is not interested in the work of that Council of Ministers. When a major scandal occurs with the cancellation of the Summit in Neum, Becirovic has no position on it; he does not comment when the Council of Ministers gives 100 million to Dodik’s godfather for the ITA building, he is silent on the Viaduct affair, he has no position on the blockades of state institutions, on the Growth Plan, the chief negotiator… On everything on which he should have a position, he is silent. In the rare situations when he does take a step, it is mostly ‘music to patriotic ears’, but also a series of unrealistic solutions that cannot be implemented within the constitutional and political framework we live in, such as the budget he proposed,” emphasized Izetbegovic.

He also spoke about the blockade of state institutions and “discrimination against Bosniaks in state institutions.”

“Bosniaks make up over 50 percent, two-thirds of public revenues are collected in areas where Bosniaks mostly live, two-thirds of the total economy is there… And then Bosniaks are reduced to one third of power, positions, and influence. And even less than that. We will put an end to this,” emphasized Izetbegovic, announcing that a law on proportional representation will soon be submitted to procedure, Klix.ba writes.
