Izetbegovic meets with the Head of the Council of Europe Office in Bosnia and Herzegovina

President of the Party of Democratic Action Bakir Izetbegovic met on Friday with the Head of the Council of Europe Office in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bojana Urumova.

The topic of the meeting was the current situation in BiH and the region, with special reference to the protection of human rights and the rule of law.

Urumova informed Izetbegovic about the projects that the Council of Europe has implemented in BiH in the past, as well as about the current projects.

For his part, Izetbegovic emphasized the importance of the role of the Council of Europe in the integration process of BiH into the European Union.

He noted the importance of enforcing the judgments of the European Court of Human Rights, as well as eliminating discrimination and segregation in schools.

For the end of meeting, Izetbegovic wished Urumova a successful mandate and expressed confidence that the cooperation of the Office of the Council of Europe with the institutions in BiH would continue in successful manner.
