jasenkaFormer student of the Fine Arts Academy in Sarajevo Jasenka Džanković won the award at the festival MIKSER in Belgrade for the swing ‘Liulia’, which she did under the supervision of prof. Finci, as part of the subject unique design IV and the project valuation of traditional crafts. The cultural organization ‘MIKSER’ in cooperation with the cultural organization ‘Public Room’ from Skopje announced the results of the fourth in a row contest ‘Young Balkan Designers 2014’ under the slogan ‘Everyday Heroes’.

More than 220 people applied for the contest, and the selection of works from 13 countries in the region will be done by an expert jury, which is chaired by the renowned industrial designed Konstantin Grčić. Due to the high quality of projects, instead of the planned 10, more than 20 winning works were chosen that will be presented as part of the one-year travelling exhibition at leading regional design events, while the artists of the three best projects will attend workshops and practical training throughout the region during 2016.

The two-year program ‘Young Balkan Designers’ includes an international traveling exhibition to individual projects (May 2014-February 2015).
