Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean Will Dance “Bolero” Again in Sarajevo

BRITAIN TORVILL AND DEANThe marking of the 30th anniversary of the Winter Olympic Games in Sarajevo will start by the end of January on the Olympic mountains Bjelašnica and Jahorina through the project  “Olympic family-Celebrating Olympics”.

A contest of artistic skating, with participation of a hundred competitors from 12 countries will be organized within this project. The president of Olympic Committee of B&H Siniša Kisić says that in this way citizens of B&H will come closer to the event from 30 years ago.

At today’s press conference it was confirmed that British skaters Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean, who won gold medal at the Olympics in 1984, will participate at the 30th anniversary. They will dance “Bolero” on 13 February, on the anniversary of their victory in Sarajevo.

“Olympic spirit and Olympic values are slowly but surely returning in B&H”, said Kisić.

Deputy Mayor of Sarajevo Ranko Čović said that is finalizing the registration of companies for the Winter European Youth Festival  2017.

“Our wish is that Sarajevo receives an ice arena, where it will be possible to maintain the ice for 10 months, where preparations for hockey, skating and other sports that need ice will take place”, said Čović.
