Joe Biden warned Iran not to attack Israel

The President of the United States of America (USA) Joe Biden warned Iran not to attack Israel.

Local media from the Middle East are writing about a possible Iranian attack on Israel in retaliation for the recent attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, Syria.

“We are committed to the defense of Israel. We will support Israel. We will help defend Israel and Iran will fail,” US President Biden told reporters as he wrapped up virtual remarks to a civil rights group.

Israel is on high alert amid Iran’s public pledge to strike Israeli targets in retaliation for an April 1 airstrike on its diplomatic facility in the Syrian capital.

At least seven members of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps were killed in the attack.

Iran accused Israel of carrying out the attack and vowed to respond. Israel, however, has not officially claimed responsibility for the attack, but has been carrying out a series of attacks on Iranian targets across Syria for months.

Both Iran and Hezbollah, its main ally in Lebanon, said the attack would not go unpunished, AA writes.
