Representatives of the border police of Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina agreed on a joint patrol action plan until the end of 2026, which, along with the accompanying security assessment, defines operational activities and specific tasks aimed at more efficient surveillance and protection of the common border, the Montenegrin Police Administration announced.
The announcement states that officers of the Border Police Sector of Montenegro held working meetings with representatives of the BiH Border Police, during which they confirmed their commitment to continuing joint activities with the aim of preserving a favorable state of border security, combating illegal migration and fighting all forms of cross-border crime.
The participants of the meetings stated that in the previous period, high-quality and efficient cooperation and communication was achieved between officers engaged in joint border patrols.
“The meetings were also an opportunity to exchange information of importance for the security of the common border, as well as to analyze current trends in the field of illegal migration and other forms of cross-border crime,” the announcement states.
Successful cooperation during the summer tourist season was particularly highlighted, when, due to increased traffic intensity and passenger frequency, joint measures and activities were undertaken at the local and regional level, especially at border crossings, to ensure the safe, efficient and smooth flow of passengers and vehicles, Radio Television of Montenegro reports.
