Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, said in a new video message released on Monday that she has completed chemotherapy and that her focus is now on fighting cancer.
“As summer draws to a close, I can’t tell you how relieved it is to finally be done with chemotherapy. The last nine months have been incredibly difficult for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant and we’ve had to find a way to get through stormy waters and an unknown road,” Middleton said in a video released by Kensington Palace.
In the video, released by Kensington Palace, Middleton can be seen spending time with her husband William, her children and her parents.
“Getting to fight cancer is my focus now. Although I have finished chemotherapy, my road to recovery and full recovery is long,” said the Princess of Wales.
She added that she is looking forward to getting back to work and taking on a few more public engagements in the coming months.
“Despite everything that has happened, I have entered this new phase of recovery with a renewed sense of hope and appreciation for life,” Middleton added.
After undergoing planned abdominal surgery in January, Middleton announced in a touching video message on March 22 that she had been diagnosed with cancer and was undergoing chemotherapy. She has only been seen twice in an official capacity this year, AA writes.
