About 60 percent of the foreign parts of Russian weapons used on the battlefield in Ukraine come from China, Vladislav Vlaisuk, an adviser to the Ukrainian president, said on Tuesday.
“If you take all the common types of weapons and count the foreign-made components, about 60 percent will be from China. We had long talks with some producers about it,” said Vlaisuk.
“I would say that the PRC is the biggest problem.”
Volodymyr Zelenskiy’s adviser said that some of the important parts used in surveillance, drones and rockets arrived from the United States, the Netherlands, Japan and Switzerland, along with other Western countries.
After the start of Russian aggression against Ukraine in February 2022, the international community imposed trade sanctions on Moscow, but since then Russia has managed to supply its war machine with Western microchips and semiconductors, writes Reuters.
