Komsic: Everything points to the Fact that the Period ahead will not be simple

Member of the BiH Presidency Željko Komšić sent a congratulatory message to the citizens of BiH on the occasion of the New Year 2023.

In his congratulatory message, Komšić pointed out that the period we are leaving behind was not at all easy and that big challenges had been ahead of us, challenges that did not make our everyday life easier, and that the period ahead will not be easy as well.

“Political changes in the world and in Europe have resulted in numerous tensions on a broader social level, which has had a major impact on the economic and social status in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Unfortunately, everything points to the fact that the period ahead will not be simple either. It will certainly be more challenging and uncertain. Therefore, it is up to all of us as individuals in society, with a lot of wisdom, patience and determination, to do everything in order to adequately respond to the challenges and changes that will follow in the future,” says Komšić.

He emphasizes that we should be honest and that there is a lot of work ahead of us to make the environment we live in better and more prosperous.

“But we should never give up. I will certainly not give up on the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina where all citizens are equal, a state where basic human rights will be imperative. A state whose institutions are at the service of each of its citizens, not an end in themselves, a state where each of us will feel safe. I’m sure you won’t give up either.

Let’s find strength in our differences, celebrate each other’s successes, be each other’s strong support. With empathy, we build a society of equals, a society of cooperation and tolerance. While we rejoice in our successes and those of our loved ones, let us not forget those who are in need and alone, let us be a hand of support to each other.

My dear Bosnians and Herzegovinans, in the New Year 2023 I wish you good health, much happiness and success, with hope that the next year would be better in every respect than the one we are leaving behind,” wrote Komšić in his New Year’s greetings.
