Komsic: The Year ahead will be Challenging and we should not give up

Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić sent a New Year’s greeting to the citizens in which he emphasized that 2022 was not easy at all.

In his New Year’s message, Komšić emphasized that the country faces great challenges in the coming period as well.

“My dear fellow citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The period we are leaving behind was not at all easy. We faced great challenges, challenges that did not make our everyday life easier. Political changes in the world and Europe resulted in numerous tensions on a wider social level, which to a large extent reflected on the economic and social status in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Unfortunately, everything points to the fact that the period ahead will not be easy either,” said Komšić.

He explained that 2023 will be challenging and uncertain.

“Therefore, it is up to all of us as individuals in society, with a lot of wisdom, patience and determination, to do everything in order to adequately respond to the challenges and changes that will follow in the future period. We should be honest, there is a lot of work ahead of us in order to make the environment made the country in which we live better and more prosperous. But we should never give up. I will certainly not give up on the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina where all citizens are equal, a state where fundamental human rights will be imperative. States whose institutions are at the service of each of its citizens, and not an end in itself, a state in which each of us will feel safe. I am convinced, you will not give up either,” he said.

At the end of the address, Komšić stated that we must build a society of cooperation and tolerance with empathy.

“Let’s find strength in our differences, celebrate each other’s successes, be each other’s strong support. With empathy, we build a society of equals, a society of cooperation and tolerance. While we rejoice in our own and the successes of our neighbors, let’s not forget those who are in need themselves, let’s be a hand of support to each other to others. My dear Bosnians and Herzegovinans, in the new year 2023 I wish you good health, much happiness and success, with the hope that the next year will be better in every respect than the one we are leaving behind,” concluded the member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić.
