Komsic: Ukrainian Scenario possible in BiH

”The Ukrainian scenario is possible in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and it should be taken seriously, ” said Ivo Komsic, an introductory speaker at the regular session of the Association of Independent Intellectuals “Circle 99” in an online format on the topic “Can the Ukrainian scenario be repeated in BiH?”.

According to Komsic, NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg has warned and constantly warns of that, also the European Union (EU), the British government, people from the United States (U.S.)administration, everybody says that it BiH’s turn, “that there is a Russian interest with Georgia and Moldova.”

Komsic stated that this topic was imposed, and that the current situation differs from the situation in the 90s in many elements, but that even today there are attempts to disorient public opinion, citizens.

Also, he stressed that when making assessments in such situations, one must start from the facts.

“We can’t start from the desire that nothing will happen here. We can’t assess the facts from that perspective, which are obvious all around us. Realistically, no one in this country would want a war, but it’s not up to us at all,” he noted.

He emphasized that the assessment of what “those who want to do that, first of all, Dodik and on the other hand Serbia, Vucic, and the people around him” say are also important.

“Everything that can be said in politics can be done. Especially if those who say that have the opportunity to do so, have the means, have the strength, and in this situation, there are forces that can do what Dodik intended, secede Republika Srpska (RS)from BiH, “ said Komsic and added:

“It is very clear what is being said from Belgrade, but it is also very clear what Putin is saying. He is important to us in assessing the situation whether the Ukrainian scenario for BiH is possible, and he said that it is possible. Don’t we believe what is he saying? “Komsic asked, adding that Putin said that BiH is below the red line that cannot be crossed, and that his ambassador here said, ‘If BiH moves towards NATO, it becomes a target, an enemy, which is a serious and real threat‘.”
