The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan is on an official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

BiH foreign minister, Elmedin Konaković stated that this is one of the really important visits to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“After a long time, officials and leaders of the UAE arrived on an official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is a country with which we normally have good relations, we do not have any open issues, but it seems to me that the potential of our cooperation is underutilized. It is a country from which we is visited annually by a large number of tourists, with which we have established direct air connections to Abu Dhabi and Dubai, and this clearly shows that the space for cooperation is very large,” he pointed out.

During the meeting, he added, there were talks about areas that may be interesting for investors in Bosnia and Herzegovina, about renewable energy sources, food production, as well as about investment in the health system.

“We talked, asked questions and received encouraging messages about the cancellation of visas for citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina traveling to the UAE. Also, there was talk of a high delegation from this country arriving at the next Sarajevo Business Forum, probably headed by the Minister of Economy. We consider this the beginning of the restoration of good relations with, in the foreground, a discussion about opportunities and potentials in the field of investments,” Konaković said.

Let us recall that Minister Al Nahyani arrived on a special flight to the Sarajevo airport, and the delegation of the United Arab Emirates were welcomed in the building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

A tete-a-tete meeting between Konaković and Al Nahyan was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which was followed by a working meeting of the delegations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates.

Minister Al Nahyan also met with the members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Bećirović and Željko Komšić.
