Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russian President Vladimir Putin will not participate in the talks expected in Istanbul.

Peskov briefly answered “No” when asked if there was a possibility that Putin would attend the talks with Ukraine in Istanbul.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that the talks, at the initiative of the Turkish side, had been postponed to the afternoon.

It was previously reported that the Russian delegation had arrived in Istanbul and that the talks were expected to take place in the afternoon.

A day earlier, Putin approved the members of the delegation that will represent Russia in the talks with Ukraine, which are being held in Istanbul with the mediation of Turkey.

The delegation is led by Putin’s advisor Vladimir Medinsky. The team also includes Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin, Chief of the General Staff Igor Kostyukov, and Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin.
