The Labour and Employment Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina mediated in employment of more than 2,000 BiH workers abroad, which was conducted within the framework of the Agreement on Employment of BiH citizens in Slovenia and under the Agreement on the Employment of medical workers with secondary education in Germany, the Labor Employment Agency told the Fena agency.
In the first nine months of 2014, in the Republic of Slovenia they mediated in hiring 1,484 people, of whom 1,449 received a work permit at that time, and the others were in the process. Of the total number of employees 30 percent were drivers in domestic and international transport, 20 percent welders, 18 percent construction workers (masons, plasterers, workers who perform electric insulations and hydro insulations), 7 percent locksmiths and 5 percent electrical technicians.
When it comes to employment in Germany, by the end of November 2014, a hundred workers were employed through the Triple Win programme, and 454 workers through the employment programs with a specific employer. The mediation activities in 2014 were followed by holiday work in Germany through which 32 students from BiH performed practice during the summer months.
The Agency has also participated in negotiations related to the agreements on employment and social security with Montenegro and in the first round of negotiations on agreements on social security with Australia and Canada.
