The great Bosnian-Herzegovinian swimmer Lana Pudar will soon continue to build her career in America, and before the trip, she could make a truly wonderful gesture.
Namely, Pudar has decided to give up her apartment in Sarajevo, which she was given for use by the Municipality of Centar, to Ismail Zulfić, a BiH para-swimmer.
This was confirmed by Mehmed Muharemović, a councilor in the Municipal Council of the Municipality of Centar.
“My happiness knows no bounds because the talented Bosnian and Herzegovinan para-swimmer Ismail Zulfić will most likely be given the use of an apartment, which was used by our excellent swimmer Lana Pudar before she left for school in America.
Namely, I, Mehmed Muharemović, as a councilor of the Centar Municipal Council, at the 5th Regular Session of the Centar Municipal Council, at the end of March, sent an initiative to the Mayor of the Centar Municipality, Srđan Mandić, and the Housing Commission to allocate an apartment to Ismail Zulfić, and now they have spoken out from the water sports club “Orka”, of which Lana Pudar is a member,” said Muharemović.
He then published a message from Lana Pudar, on whose behalf her club Orka addressed the Municipality.
“On behalf of Lana Pudar, I am writing to you with a request to terminate the Apartment Lease Agreement, which was concluded between Lana Pudar and the Housing Department of the Municipality of Centar Sarajevo. Namely, Lana Pudar is leaving for swimming training and studies in the United States of America at the end of August, so the basic idea and purpose of allocating and using the apartment, which was allocated to her for use by the Municipality of Centar Sarajevo, is lost. All obligations related to the apartment rent have been fully settled. From the media, and in contact with coach Amel Kapo, we learned that an initiative was previously launched for the para-swimmer from Zenica, Ismail Zulfić, to be given an apartment to use by your Municipality, in order to facilitate the organization of the training process and the continuation of education in Sarajevo,” the request signed by Lana’s coach Damir Đedović reads.
Then, Orka adds:.
“We hereby request and initiate that, if at all possible, the apartment previously given to Lana Pudar by your Municipality be allocated to para-swimmer Ismail Zulfić for use, and thus make his daily training and school obligations easier. Especially since he is a top athlete who has the potential to follow in the footsteps of his colleague Ismail Barlov. This request and initiative is a personal wish of Lana Pudar. On behalf of Lana Pudar and on our own behalf, we would like to thank the Mayor of the Municipality of Centar, Mr. Srđan Mandić, and his associates for everything they have done for Lana Pudar so far and for your sincere desire to support her on her path to success and sports development,” the request states. In the fall, Lana will become a member of the best American university swimming club, Virginia, which has produced numerous Olympic and world champions. The head coach of this club is Todd DeSorbo, who is also the selector of the American women’s swimming team. From all over Europe, only two swimmers received an invitation to be part of this team this year, and Lana is one of those two.
