Last month was the warmest January in history, the EU Climate Change Service “Copernicus” (C3S) announced.
According to “Kopernik” data, the past month overtook the previously recorded warmest January that was recorded in 2020.
“Kopernik” has been collecting data since 1950.
“Not only was January the hottest in history, but also in the past twelve-month period, the temperature was measured higher than 1.5 degrees Celsius compared to the pre-industrial period,” said the deputy director of “Kopernik” Samanta Burže.
American scientists predict that there are great chances that this year will be much warmer than last year and will be among the five hottest in history.
