house of representaivesSession of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of FBiH, last regular session in pre-election period, concluded in Sarajevo.

Plan of the Federation Hydro-meteorological Institute for protection and rescue in case of natural and other disasters was approved this afternoon with majority vote after break that was made due to lack of quorum. Prior to that, while there was a quorum, most of reports on last-year’s work of some Federation institutions or agencies were dismissed. Those include: Commission for Securities, Banking Agency of FBiH and Fund for professional rehabilitation and employment of disabled persons. Report on execution of last-year’s financial plan of the Institute of health insurance and reinsurance of FBiH and Federation Solidarity Fund was also dismissed.

This session also addressed the end of mandate of four-year assembly of the House of Representatives. Chairman Safet Softić often warned of doubtful quorum and possible interruption of the session and after break was made due to that, he decided to use the final possibility – work in quorum where only a discussion can be held, but not voting. At that moment the only thing that was left for him to do was to interrupt the session if there is no quorum for voting until the end of discussion on all the remaining items on the agenda, which did not happen because enough deputies were in the hall when it was time to vote.

Softić stated earlier that he will not call regular sessions until October elections in BiH but only extraordinary ones if the Federation Government requests it. That does not mean that regular sessions will not be held after the elections, he said.
