Latal: It Depends on BiH Politicians Whether the Initiative of Germany and Great Britain Would be Successful

eu_flag_rf123Political analyst Srećko Latal said that the initiative of the United Kingdom and Germany, which represents concrete example of the new approach of the European Union towards BiH, is a positive attempt by the international community to help BiH to come out of the deep crisis and turn to European integration.

He believes that it is good that this plan has been presented now and that the newly elected BiH officials are asked to straightforwardly commit themselves to future path towards the European integration.

“In the period when post-election coalitions are made and the establishment of the new government, it is necessary that the international community in this way prompts the political parties in BiH to include a strategic component in their coalition agreements,” said Latal.

However, he stressed that it will depend of BiH politicians on whether this initiative comes out as successful and what would be its future.

He said that after the general elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina other segments of society have to get actively involved in politics in BiH in order to move towards addressing the serious political, economic and social issues.
