bhrtAt the 6th emergency session of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH (PA BiH) was adopted, on the first reading, the Proposal of the Law on Amendments to the Law on the Public Broadcasting System of BiH.

In the second round of voting, with 24 votes “for” and 10 votes “against”, deputies supported in the first reading this law by which, among other things, was predicted that the public broadcasting service fee is charged through cable operators, and now will follow amendment phase of the adoption of the law.

Proposal of Law on Amendments to the Law on the Public Broadcasting System of BiH was proposed by Amir Fazlic (SDA) and Mirsad Djonlagic (SBB) in the first reading, and by which was proposed that the fee is charged by telecom and cable operators, until the beginning of the work of funds.

This proposal did not receive support of deputies in the first round.

Representatives of the SDA and SBB, in order to prevent a collapse of the public broadcasting system, primarily BHRT, proposed amendments to the Law on Public Broadcasting System of BiH which would allow financing.

With the Law on Amendments to the Law on the Public Broadcasting System of BiH is stipulated that public service broadcasters in the territory of BiH are primarily funded by the public broadcasting service fee or by funds that are collected by funds of the public broadcasting service, after which the funds will be distributed to Radio-Television of the FBiH, Radio-Television of the RS and BHRT.

As stated in the proposed law, the fee would be charged by telecom operators and cable operators, until the beginning of the work of these funds.
