Legendary jumper Orlando Duque arrived in Mostar, where he and 13 other world’s top jumpers will perform at the first competition of the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series in our country, on Saturday the 15th of August, at 3:30 p.m. But he did not wait for the Saturday to jump from the Old Bridge!
Orlando wasted no time, he immediately met with his old friends, Mostar jumpers. Lorens Listo, with whom he often jumped on the Neretva River, and Emir Balić, the legend of jumps from the Old Bridge welcomed him.
However, Orlando was waiting for a meeting with another very dear friend: Old Bridge. He was eager to climb at the stone arch of the bridge and jump to the Neretva River, on the joy of the large number of Mostar residents, tourists and random passersby.
“It’s great to be back in Mostar. I’m coming here for years, and it’s very nice to see some good old friends and jump off the bridge again. The water is so refreshing. It’s like I’ve come back home,” said Orlando with a wide smile on his face.
Two young Mostar jumpers, Edi Fink, son of the famous jumper Goran Fink, and Ermin Sarić, the guy who Orlando met a few years ago when he paid him to jump, performed one jump together with him this time.
“First of all, Orlando is a good man, and then a great jumper. For me, there is no better than him. He showed that he is a true friend of Mostar and the Old Bridge, and he will most certainly have a lot of support here,” said Lorens Listo.
It is also most certain that we can expect a real spectacle at the Old Bridge on Saturday, when the world’s best jumpers will perform outstanding acrobatic jumps from the height of 27 meters. In order to achieve this height, an additional 7 meters high platform will be set on the bridge. Competition starts at 3:30 p.m., and the entrance is free of charge.
