A 21-year-old Lejla Tanović is the best Bosnian cyclist, a quintuple national champion and a double vice-champion of Balkans. She made a progress and she is currently at the seventy third place of UCI Ranking. Last weekend she won a second place on UCI C2 race in Hungary and in that way won 20 new UCI points, writes Patria.
The winner was Barbara Benko (Focus MIG Team) who is currently at the twenty fifth place of the UCI Ranking.
New progress on UCI Ranking shows us that we’re on the right path. We’ll have the same plan for the rest of the season, we’ll try to achieve better results on UCI Ranking and in that way make it easier to collect enough points for the Olympics in Tokyo. The next race will be held in Turkey, and after that I’ll have very demanding race in Samobor, C1 Category.
Her coach, Amar Njemčević says that Lejla is competitive in every UCI race and that she is always a candidate for the first 5 positions.
“The best results in cycling are expected to come after you’re 25 and Lejla is very often one of the youngest contestant in races. Her best results are about to come and she will have a bright cycling career”, says Njemčević.
