As of this morning, there is an obvious trend of a decrease in the pollutants in the air at several individual measuring stations, although there is still a concentration of certain substances, and in particular dust particles and sulfur dioxides are extremely high, said Enis Omerčić from the Department of Environment of the FB&H Hydrometeorological Institute of B&H.
This morning there is an evidently lower inversion layer, which allows penetration of sunlight to the bottom of the valley and thus warming the surface layers of air.
‘’With the present weak southerly wind, the ‘purification’ of the Bosnian valley today and tomorrow is expected’’, said Omerčić.
