“We know that Lidl has been intensively searching for locations for its markets throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina in the past period, and that finding them, ie collecting the necessary documentation in that process, was very difficult and slow.
“It remains to be seen, but FIPA BiH has not received an official notification that they are withdrawing from the BiH market. This was reported by some media last week,” Markovic said.
She stated that FIPA did not have direct contact in the process of their registration on the market of Bosnia and Herzegovina, but they actively monitored the process of their arrival during 2021.
Some media stated that they have information that “Lidl is still withdrawing from Bosnia and Herzegovina”, because in this company they are “dissatisfied with certain actions of institutions in BiH towards such a large investor”.
