Livno: Workshop on Prosecution of Hate Speech

livnoOrganized by the BiH Association of Journalists at the PTC Forum in Livno, there will be a workshop on 24 July beginning at 11:00 called the “European Court for Human Rights in Strasbourg-Prosecution of Hate Speech”.

Expert of the Council of Europe from Strasbourg Onur Andreotti will speak about the practice of the European Court in Strasbourg in prosecuting hate speech. After that, representatives of the BIH judiciary will talk about the practice of prosecuting cases of hate speech in BiH.

The BIH Association of Journalists is organizing a series of workshops on prosecuting cases of hate speech with the support of the Council of Europe.

The aim of these workshops that will be held in Livno, Bihać and Prijedor, is to improve the knowledge and skills of media workers and authorities from the investigative-judicial system to recognize and fight hate speech through the implementation of the existing legal and professional framework, as well as the implementation of standards of the EU in BiH legal practice.
