The local elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which will be held on Sunday, October 6, will be monitored by more than 300 observers from eight countries, four international organizations, as well as from the Office of the High Representative (OHR) and the Delegation of the European Union to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The largest number of observers will be from the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), i.e. from their Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), which accredited as many as 174 observers.

When it comes to foreign embassies, the US Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina will have the largest observer team, which received accreditation from the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CEC) for its 44 observers, who will have the right to observe the election process at all points, from the CEC, through the polling stations to the Vote Counting Center.

Russia accredited six observers, Montenegro three, and Spain only one.

The EU delegation in BiH will have 23 observers, and the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities, which operates within the Council of Europe, has accredited 24 observers.

Local elections are being held in BiH on Sunday, during which mayors and chiefs of cities and municipalities, councilors in the assemblies of cities and municipalities, as well as councilors for the Brčko District Assembly will be elected throughout BiH.
